The application menu bar provides access to both standard and application-specific commands. There are seven application menus: File, Edit, View, Insert, Format, Window, and Help. Each menu contains commands specific to one area of the application. For example, the File menu contains the following commands:

 

 

Each menu contains a listing of commands, the icons for any related toolbar button, plus the key combinations for any available shortcut keys. See the Command Reference at the end of this chapter for a complete listing of the commands available in the application menu bar.
