Customizing the PEERNET Reports Runtime Engine

For all platforms, a fonts folder may be specified by the programmer’s application. By default, this folder is assumed to be a subfolder of the application’s installation folder. Any TrueType font file placed in this folder will become available for use by PEERNET Reports Embedded Engine.

The PEERNET Reports installation folder, by default, contains an empty fonts folder. If you place Windows TrueType fonts into this folder, these fonts will become available for use by PEERNET Reports Designer. Note, however, that only Windows TrueType fonts can be used in this manner at this time (as the Sun JVM can only dynamically load Windows TrueType fonts).

If you create a PEERNET Reports project on a Windows platform, and then distribute your application on another platform (such as UNIX), you will need to include any referenced TrueType fonts as part of your application’s installation. Note that the Java logical fonts Dialog, DialogInput, Monospaced, Serif, SansSerif, and Symbol are available on all platforms, and do not have to be distributed as part of your application.
