You can add Section Breaks to the Detail, Report Header, Report Footer, and user-defined sort group header and footer sections of your report. Note that you cannot add Section Breaks to your Page Header or Page Footer sections. You also cannot add Section Breaks to labels. Section Breaks will appear as dotted blue lines in the Design View of your report:

Adding Section Breaks to a report allows you to decide exactly when the application will split a section when printing a report. For example, your Detail section might include the front and back components of an ID card; you could use a Section Break to ensure the front and back components were printed on different pages or different labels. Or, you might have a picture on your report that is too big to fit on one page; you could use a Section Break to determine exactly where the picture is split when printed.

To add a Section Break, click InsertSection Break, then click the location on the report where you want the Section Break to appear. The following Section Break properties can be configured:

Name

A unique, assigned name, consisting of the words “Section Break” plus the first available number (for example, Section Break 1, Section Break 2, and so on), by default. You can also give your own, unique name to the component for ease of reference when using event methods.

Break At

The exact vertical co-ordinate for the Section Break.

Visible

If you set this field to No this Section Break will be hidden.
