Raster Image Printer

With the driver improvements to feature a new graphic core that does vector graphic operations, users are now able to create Searchable PDF.

In the past, Raster Image Printer only allowed users to produce non-searchable PDF images, where each page was a single image, but following the vector graphic transformation, our new graphic core allows Raster Image Printer 12 to produce searchable PDF with vectorized pages. This means that you can create searchable Adobe PDF files.

To accompany this new file output format, we have added several new PDF specific settings:

Document Information - Used to add basic descriptive information to your Adobe PDF file. These descriptions are used by Adobe’s search engine and also by many search engines to describe the document in their results list.

Image Downsampling - Used to reduce the overall size of Adobe PDF files by reducing the quality of images embedded into the vector PDF.

PDF Security - Support for 128-bit AES and 256-bit AES encryption has been added. These are more secure encryption levels as compared to older alternatives. We have also changed document permissions to offer the standard four PDF permission types as well as show a preview of the Adobe Reader settings that will be impacted based on the document restrictions enabled.

PDF Options - Added ability to control font embedding, configure the initial page view when a user opens the file in a PDF Reader, and configure viewer layout when a user opens the file in a PDF Reader.
